SMS Consent & Text Messaging Details
This page explains exactly how parents and players provide consent to receive text messages from Gem State Tennis Academy and shows the registration form where that consent is collected. It is intended for transparency for our families and for carrier / compliance review.
How Users Opt In to Text Messages
Parents and players opt in to receive SMS notifications during online registration for lessons, camps, clinics, and tournaments on our website: www.gemstatetennisacademy.com.
On the registration form, users see a checkbox specifically for text messaging consent with the following text (or materially similar):
“I agree to receive SMS notifications about lessons, schedules, weather updates, and player development from Gem State Tennis Academy. Message & data rates may apply.”
Checking this box and submitting the form provides consent for us to send program-related SMS messages to the phone number provided.
Confirmation Flow
- After registration, the user receives a confirmation message, for example:
“Thanks for joining Gem State Tennis Academy Alerts! Reply YES to confirm. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.” - If the user replies YES(or uses another supported opt-in keyword such as START or UNSTOP), they are fully subscribed to receive text messages.
- Parents or legal guardians provide consent on behalf of junior players (minors).
Additional Conversational Opt-In
Users may also initiate a text conversation by messaging our academy phone number directly (for example, asking a question or requesting schedule help). By initiating this conversation, the user provides consent for 1:1 conversational SMS related to their inquiry. All messages still follow our opt-out rules below.

Message Types & Frequency
We send SMS messages only for academy-related purposes, such as:
- Lesson confirmations and reminders
- Weather cancellations or court changes
- Tournament and event reminders
- Player evaluation availability and progress updates
Typical frequency: 1–5 messages per week, depending on player activity and weather.

Opt-Out, Help & Supported Keywords
Users can control their SMS preferences at any time using standard keywords:
- Opt-Out: Text STOP to unsubscribe. We also honor: OPTOUT, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL.
- Opt-In / Re-subscribe: Text START, YES, or UNSTOP.
- Help: Text HELP or INFO for assistance and information about the program.
When a user unsubscribes, they receive a confirmation message and are added to a suppression list so that they do not receive additional messages unless they re-subscribe using the keywords above.
