Trevor Jones

Elite Tennis Pro

10+ Years Experience

Trevor Jones is a dedicated tennis professional with a passion for junior development and fostering a strong tennis culture. Originally from Vancouver, WA, he grew up playing multiple sports but found his greatest interest in tennis from the age of five. After competing in junior tournaments throughout the Pacific Northwest, Trevor played collegiate tennis at Metropolitan State University of Denver before transferring to the University of Washington to pursue an architecture degree.

Following graduation in 2018, Trevor transitioned into coaching, starting as the Tennis Operations Coordinator and Assistant Pro at the Seattle Tennis Club, where he coached players of all ages and levels, managed pro shop operations, and helped run events. In 2020, he was promoted to Director of Junior Tennis, where he focused on developing young players, increasing their work ethic and competitive exposure, and expanding match play opportunities in response to the challenges of COVID-19.

In late 2023, Trevor relocated to Boise, Idaho, drawn by the area's tennis potential. He quickly immersed himself in the community, coaching at Eagle Tennis Club (ETC) and assisting the Eagle High School team. Since ETC’s closure, he has joined Boise State’s junior program, working to rebuild opportunities for displaced players and striving to create a culture of discipline, passion, and high-level tennis training. Trevor strongly believes in providing players with the structure, resources, and mindset necessary for long-term development both on and off the court.

A top junior tennis player in the Intermountain region, with multiple notable wins over current ranked collegiate and ITA opponents. Dominance continued at the high school level, culminating in three consecutive state championships (2021–2023), never losing a match in any state competition throughout high school which ended in a perfect 22–0 senior season in singles. Leadership extended beyond athletics through participation in a firefighting program, serving as captain and placing third in the state firefighting competition.

COLLEGE BACKGROUND

After a full recovery, transferred to the University of Idaho to compete at the Division I level. While at Idaho, historic team victories over nationally ranked programs including San Diego State and Gonzaga occurred. Earned Big Sky and additional ITA recognitions. Currently completing final year at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, majoring in Homeland Security and Intelligence with double minors in Security & Intelligence and Emergency Management, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and consistent Dean’s List recognition. Selected as the keynote speaker for the “We Are West Ada” awards, a district-wide event recognizing top-performing seniors in academic and athletics, and nominated for the Aviation Week Network’s “20 Twenties” program, honoring the top 20 aerospace and defense-focused students worldwide.

Coach

5+ Years Experience

Hello, my name is Evan Walther and I’m a dedicated tennis professional and Eagle, Idaho native. Growing up training in the Treasure Valley, I learned what it meant to have a strong work ethic and enjoy the sport of tennis. This has led to a lifelong passion for the game and everything it encompasses.

Driven by my desire to take my game to the next level, I moved to New Braunfels, Texas early in my junior career to train at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy. It was during this time that I gained a profound understanding of the discipline, strategy, and work ethic required for elite performance.

Upon returning to Idaho, I continued my junior career at Eagle High School, capturing the 5A doubles state title. I also found success away from Idaho, winning multiple tournaments across the Intermountain district.

Following my high school graduation, I competed for Wheaton College for two years before transferring to St. Mary’s University, where I finished my collegiate career.

Today, I work towards combining high-performance training with my passion for coaching, helping players around my hometown reach their full potential. I believe tennis is best learned by pairing the physical side with mental toughness. I keep my teaching simple, focusing on technical precision and a strong mental game
